Dr. Shusen Wang - Government of Canada Science Profile
Shusen Wang is a senior research scientist at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing. He has a specific interest in remote sensing-based Earth system modelling for studying land surface physical, physiological and biogeochemical processes, and their interactions with the climate system. He has led scientific research projects in a broad range of areaa including terrestrial water cycle and water resources, ecosystem productivity and carbon/nitrogen biogeochemical cycles, radiation transfer, energy budgets, as well as innovations in remote sensing observations and applications including UAV and space-based optical, microwave, and gravity measurements.
What is your role in the C1W project?
My role in C1W is to provide modelling expertise in surface water-groundwater interactions, coupling of cold region hydrological process with the climate system, and model validations.
What benefits do you think C1W will bring to Canada/Canadians?
By bring Canada’s leading scientists in the area of water modelling and remote sensing together, C1W will demonstrate synergies from multisector collaborations in filling data and knowledge gaps for better understanding and managing Canada’s water resources.
