Matthew Tsui, M.Sc.
Matthew Tsui is a Hydrological Modeller with Aquanty Inc. He is interested in the atmospheric influences that has led to rapid changes during the spring snowmelt season. Matthew received his MSc in Geography (2021) at Wilfrid Laurier University with a specialization in cold regions hydrology. His graduate research focused on the changing snowmelt conditions in the Western Canadian Arctic, working with Dr. Philip Marsh.
What is your role in the C1W project?
My role in the C1W project would be as a Groundwater - Surface-Water Modeller. I'll work with other members of the Aquanty team to integrate various datasets into HydroGeoSphere and help to create the models that drive this whole project.
What benefits do you think C1W will bring to Canada/Canadians?
I believe the C1W project will bring about better understanding and support better decision-making to address issues such as flood risks, droughts, wildfire risks, and etc. The ability to mitigate or adapt to these issues will be beneficial to Canadian communities that depend on groundwater and surface-water systems.
