What is your role in the C1W project?
My primary role in the project is the general overview of the construction of the HydroGeoSphere models and their performance in terms of numerical efficiency and skill.
What benefits do you think C1W will bring to Canada/Canadians?
The C1W project will for the first time provide a scientifically rigorous platform allowing the assessment of climate change impacts on surface and groundwater resources over the entire Canadian landscape. By disseminating the results using a user-friendly web-based portal, the project will aid policy makers, water managers and individual Canadians alike. An extension towards implementing real-time forecasting within the HGSRT platform at local and regional scales will be particularly useful in proactively planning for imminent extreme weather events and their effects on the entire hydrologic regime.
