The Water Institute: “What is Canada’s water worth?”

The Water Institute, based at the University of Waterloo, is one of the worlds foremost water research institutions. This year they are launching an important webinar series - “The Value of Water in Canada”, and the very first event is just around the corner! On March 16th, 2022, join Dr. Roy Brouwer (Professor, Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo) as he tackles the question: What is Canada’s water worth?”. This presentation is the first in a series of monthly webinars taking place throughout 2022.

Understanding the value of water is a critical first step in ensuring that Canada’s water resources are properly managed. How will the value of Canada’s water systems change in the future? The Canada 1 Water project will help us to answer these questions!

Keep an eye on the Canada 1 Water blog as we highlight these regular water talks.

Join us for a new webinar series highlighting state-of-the-art water valuation practices in Canada and identifying practitioners’ demand for information about the value of water. The webinar series targets anyone from academia to non-government agencies and practitioners who are interested in better understanding the value of water in Canada from a broad social science perspective, and how this value is captured, acknowledged and integrated in Canadian water policy and decision-making.
