Groundwater Talks Webinars: “Canada’s Groundwater Resources - Perspectives on Canadian Hydrogeology” by Dr. Alfonso Rivera

Dr. Alfonso Rivera is the former chief hydrogeologist at the Geological Survey of Canada, and Chairman of the IAH-Transboundary Aquifers Commission. So it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about Canada’s groundwater resources, in fact he wrote the book (Canada's Groundwater Resources)!

Last summer Dr. Rivera was hosted for an episode of The Groundwater Project’s webinar series (Groundwater Talks) to provide an overview about groundwater in Canada and many interesting facts about the geology of the country!

The Groundwater Project is an international non-profit effort to disseminate high-quality educational material on groundwater resources. This initiative will help people all around the world to learn about groundwater and how it relates to and sustains the ecological systems that humanity relies on. This is just one episode in a series which explores the world’s groundwater resources, one country (and one expert) at a time. The Groundwater Project continues to seek volunteers and funding to translate these works to as many languages as possible, and to bring more important hydrogeology knowledge into the open domain. We encourage everyone in the C1W community to read more and get involved in this amazing project. The world needs more initiatives like this!
